Landscaping Pictures - Three Great Places to Find Online Pictures of Gardens

!±8± Landscaping Pictures - Three Great Places to Find Online Pictures of Gardens

Looking for good landscaping pictures is not that easy. Although I am a landscape designer, I still look around. I like to see how new materials are being used, possibly new plants, or just get some new ideas. Sometimes a plant combination will catch my eye or an interesting way to combine different paving stones.

Let me say that there are some very beautiful landscaping pictures out there, whether it be a great paving design with a top quality installation, an enchanting planting design, or just a great overall design. It's just that with so many available online, it's hard to get to the right places to see the good ones. So, how do we go about it?

Here are a few sources:

Google Image Search

I have found Google Image Search to provide some nice landscaping pictures, particularly in the beginning. I think as you move on in the pages though, the choices become more slim.

For those of you not familiar with Google Image Search, just search for a word, such as "patio designs". When the results appear, go to the top of the page and you will see some category choices. The first is Web, followed by Images. Click on Images, and pictures related to patio designs will come up.

The American Society of Landscape Architects

The American Society of Landscape Architects gives out awards each year for outstanding projects. If you like contemporary work, that is mostly what you will find, although sometimes they will feature a more traditional design. There are both commercial and residential award winning design projects.

Just like most fields, there are ranges of excellence. This holds true for Landscape Designers and Architects. Some have more expertise and creativity than others. You may like one professional's work and not another.

Famous Gardens

Well known gardens are another place to take a look. Famous Landscape Designers and Landscape Architects have often provided designs for public gardens, and some are very, very nice. Do a search for well known gardens (use whatever phrases you like). These might be in the U.S., but there are others throughout Europe. England has wonderful garden displays and designs. Some that you might take a look at are Hidcote and Sissinghurst.

Many of the concepts can be utilized in your own landscapes. Through the above sources, you can find landscape design pictures of planting designs, patios, pergolas, outdoor kitchens, driveway designs, water features, swimming pools, and so on.

You will know when you see a design that is a good one. It has that "wow" factor. But some things to analyze are:

Do the hardscape materials go well together? Is the workmanship good? Does the planting design flow? What about color and textures...are the plants interesting? Do waterfall designs and/or ponds look natural? Are there any interesting garden ornaments or architectural features? Are sitting areas oriented to take advantage of the best views?

And most important....is this a landscape that you would like to be in?!

Curbside Locking Mailboxes

!±8± Curbside Locking Mailboxes

Curbside mailboxes are immensely popular in many communities. In fact, curbside mailboxes are required by homeowners association rules in many subdivisions. But how do you balance the convenience, style and in some cases necessity of a curbside mailbox with your need to have a secure and safe environment for your mail. One way would be to use one of the many different styles of curbside locking mailboxes that are hot these days.

Curbside locking mailboxes come in a wide variety of styles that are great to suit any neighborhood image or yard design. You can get curbside locking mailboxes at your local home improvement retailer, or you can create your own with a little imagination and basic skills.

The traditional model for curbside locking mailboxes is the "brick pillar" this is a round or square pillar about four feet high that surrounds a locking mailbox fully and permanently. This option is nice if you have a brick faced home ad many of the newer subdivision designs have brick pillar curbside locking mailboxes already installed when the homes are sold. The best feature about brick pillar curbside locking mailboxes is the fact that they cannot be stolen or destroyed in order to get to the mail inside so they make an excellent choice if you regularly receive high-value mail at your home, or if you use your home to receive some of your business mail.

Another popular choice in mailboxes is the doll house. This style of curbside locking mailboxes is designed and built to look like the front of the home that it sits in front of. These curbside locking mailboxes are hugely popular as they can be made as accurate replicas of the home's appearance or in some cases they are themed versions of the home. Usually, the door of the mailbox is incorporated either as the front door of the house or perhaps the garage door.

Another of the most popular styles that have come to the genre of curbside locking mailboxes is the birdcage. For those who think that the brick pillar is just to commercial and cookie cutter or that the doll-house is just a little too whimsical for their taste, the birdcage is an excellent choice. The Birdcage design is beautiful and stylish. It is a elegant design that fits easily into almost any upscale environment. Usually, made from wrought iron and Plexiglas the birdcage is also extremely easy on upkeep. Being able to be cleaned with a garden hose inside and out. The birdcage design is also large and roomy. This allows even large priority mail envelopes and small boxed packages to be put inside easily.

No matter what style of curbside locking mailbox you choose, there are a few things to keep in mind when purchasing or designing your mailbox. Make sure that the curbside locking mailboxes that you choose from are United States Postmaster Approved, otherwise, the mail carriers may not use your mailbox for your deliveries. You should also make sure that the mailbox that you choose is large enough to accommodate the mail volume that you have. You should also look for mailboxes that have replaceable locks or that have keys that are duplicate at your local post office or the manufacturer, just in case you lose both of the keys that come with the mailbox.

!±8± Some Ways to Prevent Identity Theft and Save Your Identity

In 2006 there were 8 million identity thefts reported to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and again in 2007, after the Javelin survey. Account fraud detection, and application: These thefts are classified into two types.

In an account of the acquisition, which is the most common, is a thief to an existing account as a credit card orAccounts and make purchases or cash advances. In application of the fraud, the author uses the identifying information (eg social security number) to create new accounts. Of the two, the second type of commitment to the harder and harder to detect.

What are some ways to prevent identity theft are they? Now most people would say that not using your information online, you will be safe. This is wrong, though. Online theft is less than 12% of all identity theft. Most of themoccur online. People fish credit card statements or receipts from the trash, take photos of your card, if at the time of sale, steal your wallet, etc. These are the most common identity theft.

The three most common types of identity theft, credit card fraud (acquisitions), phone or utilities fraud and bank fraud. In all three cases, the criminals to access information on the account, withdraw the identity of the account holder and then the purchase of goods, money or other useAccount. Fraud with credit cards account for about 28% of all cases of identity theft and is almost 100% of online fraud. The best way to credit card fraud, so that just before the end of all your credit accounts and shred your papers, is to follow these rules when you use your card:

Keep with you at any time if you are traveling. Use only from sites you know, buying and trust. Can not give, loan or give them to everyone, even the waiter in the restaurant. Check your bank statements carefully every month to ensure that nothing you have not authorized to be recharged card thieves use to move a card once and then, often goes unnoticed.

Another good way to prevent identity theft is to spend the money to buy a paper shredder. It seems the answer to cheap, but offers occur, the majority of identity theft is not true if a thief opened the bills approved in advance by credit card, check stubs, etc. comes from the Recycle Bin. Shredded documents make it almostimpossible for the thief to steal easily.

If payment of bills or accounts, which is not the outgoing mail box on a street unlocked outgoing mail specialist at work or somewhere else where they can be seen and stolen. Falling into a blue post office (closed) at the mailbox or another secure box. If you leave the city for any reason, the post office hold your mail until you return home.

Another way identity theft, identity theft, particularly comprehensive or prevent the applicationfraud-is to check your credit report regularly. You can request copies of your credit report once a year, for free, from all three credit bureaus. Make sure you do this and verify that all accounts and account creation attempts were authorized by you.

Finally, one of the ways ot prevent identity theft that is often overlooked is when you order new checks for your checking account. Rather than having them mailed to you, pick them up at the bank. Or have them sent to a secure box like a PO box or similar service. When they do arrive, count them to be sure they're all there. Glance through the numbers to make sure that "1001" doesn't lead to "1003." Clever thieves only need one check to copy!
